The Mission of the Training and Placement cell of SANKARA is to give the students necessary training and to make them industry ready and give them good placements. The Placement cell not only acts as a facilitator for training and placement but also works towards overall development of the students. The goal of the placement cell is to motivate and guide students to make smart career choices and guide them to be industry ready to make them to compete globally.

The Training and Placement Cell plays a vital role in students career planning, skill training and recruitment process. By maintaining contact with reputable organizations and industrial establishments, employment opportunities are given to all undergraduates and postgraduates graduating from the college. The number of students who have been placed as a result of campus interviews is steadily increasing. Many reputable industries come to the institute on invitation to conduct interviews. Starting in the first year, the Placement Cell organizes career counseling programs for all students. The cell provides skill development programmes in association with Infosys BPM, TCS, Barclays Premier, Mahindra Pride Classroom, Cognizant Outreach etc.

Training Schemes and Activities

The Training and Placement cell has collaborations with leading placement training providers and corporate to provide comprehensive job oriented training with various schemes and activities. The training schemes and programmes are Campus to Corporate (C2C) Placement Preparatory, Skill Development and Career Craft , ICT Skill Enhancement, Divyangjan Skill Development, Life Skills etc to boost the skill set of students and give them what industry expects. The following are schemes and activities provided to make students industry ready and to face challenges during the recruitment process.

C2C Placement Preparatory Programme

The institution collaborated with leading placement training provider (EIDOS Pvt. Ltd) to give C2C training to all students on various skill sets required for a successful career. Students are trained in soft skills, communication skills, aptitude and reasoning for written exams, grooming, hygiene, resume writing, personality development, career counseling, mock interviews, and other topics. The training module’s content is tailored to each stream (Commerce, Science, Hotel Management, and Management) in order to provide students with the necessary professional and employability skills.

Skill Development and Career Craft Programme

The institution signed MoUs with Infosys, UTL Technologies, TCS, and other MNC’s and provides training to enhance students’ skill sets. The trainers from corporate and subject related experts are invited to up skill the students on current employability needs. The students learn about work ethics, attitude, communication skills, emotional intelligence and other personal attributes that are crucial for a successful profession and life. The training assists the students in developing skills and job search methods to accomplish their professional goals.

ICT Skill Enhancement Programme

ICT Skill Enhancement Training Programme aids the students to face the industry 4.0 and also helps them in equipping with relevant computing skills which they need in current education era. The training programmes are devised, customized and delivered to impart the relevant skills to suit the employer needs. The Institution offers ICT training in Tally with GST, Advanced Excel, Word Processing, Adobe Photoshop, Operating System Installation & Trouble Shooting, PHP, Python etc which opens various avenues in job market. In addition to this the college has collaborated with ICT Academy for various ICT skill development and career guidance programmes.

Divyangjan Skill Development Programme

The institution offers Skill and Professional development training programmes with an endeavor to empower the Divyangjan students to utilize the opportunities available in the industrial sectors. We provide extensive corporate training for the Divyangjan Students (Speech and Hearing impaired) in association with Infosys BPM, CTS Outreach, Youth For Jobs etc. This capability enhancement and development programmes are the stimulating factors in getting the special students corporate-ready.

Registration of Student Details

The Training and Placement cell has created an exclusive online placement registration form for final year students. The Registration form will be open during the odd semester every year. Final year UG and PG students those who are interested in placements should register in the placement cell along with their details. The details will be used by the Training and Placement Cell for ON and OFF campus recruitment drives. The details will be shared to Bharathiar University whenever required for OFF campus recruitment drives. Request students to fill the form carefully with valid details in all the necessary fields.

Admission Form

Sankara College of Science and Commerce follows admission norms given by Bharathiar University and Govt. of Tamilnadu. The college has merit scholarship schemes based on the marks scored in plus two for UG admission and marks scored in UG for PG admission. Students have to study the admission procedure and eligibility criteria clearly before applying for admissions. The college offers 9 UG programmes, 3 PG programmes, 2 M.Phil programmes, 3 Ph.D programmes affiliated to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.

Note: Kindly Download the application form and fill it and submit to admission office. After verification of the application by admission team admission fees will be collected.

Admission Guidelines

UG Programmes: The candidates who have passed plus two examination conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu or an equivalent examination shall be eligible to join the first year of the UG degree programme, subject to the stipulation that the candidates satisfy certain specific conditions, if any, prescribed by the University and Govt. of TamilNadu for admission to the respective courses.

PG Programmes: The candidates who have passed an UG degree examination of Bharathiar University or an equivalent examination, shall be eligible to join the first year of PG Degree programme at Sankara, subject to the condition that the candidates should satisfy certain other specific conditions prescribed, if any, by the University or Govt. of Tamilnadu for admission to the respective courses.

Research Programmes: The candidates who have passed PG degree are eligible for research programme. The college follows strict norms of Bharathiar University for research admission process as per the intake and availability of guides.
